Name: Jamie Gerhard
Position: Massage Therapist

Currently working on: I am currently working on working and working out.

Loves: I love pie and pit bulls.

Mantra: My mantra is that long term health is determined by what you choose to take at a time; pills or stairs.

Things that make me laugh: Humor makes me laugh.

Places you want to live: Realistically I would prefer to travel to places such as, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Japan, Arizona, and Colorado. Unrealistically though and due to the progression of my generation I would like to live in a space station, especially on Mars would be ideally interesting and exciting!

Currently obsessed with: I believe that obsession is unhealthy, but I do have a high interest in the overall health and wellness of oneself, sustainability and care of our planet and tactical training.

When did you know you wanted to be a massage therapist? I knew I wanted to be a massage therapist by going to college and realizing that an Art Degree really means that I’ll end up working in retail or as a barista in a coffee shop. I have great detail with my hands and have always been interested in health and nutrition, so massaging is a great trade where I get to use both elements.

How long have you been doing massage therapy? I graduated in 2007 from Advanced Massage Therapeutics.

How would you describe your approach to doing massage therapy? With my wide range of training and education mixed with personal experience, my approach is a varied mix that changes to help out each individual client. The mix includes myofacial, trigger point, Swedish, AIS stretching, Reiki, and other massage modalities.

What advice would you give to someone considering a spa treatment for the first time? My advice to someone considering having a spa treatment for the first time is don’t be afraid to ask any questions, relax, enjoy and remember that this is all about you!

How do you customize a spa service for each and every client? I customize a spa service for each client by asking about their tension and stress areas. A lot of times knowing about the job they have, or the sports and activities they do can help in focusing on their biggest issues.

What’s your approach to retaining spa clients? My approach to retaining spa clients is I let my hands do the talking!
